  1.   Apprenticeships are more than cheap, they are job specific and only teach techniques and skills appropriate for a certain job. Chef apprenticeships teach the trade from the bottom up. Its hands on ,but there is a lot of theory involved . At the end of the day its all about knowing how to do the job. I cant stand complaints that apprenticeships will not guarantee high pay, what matters most; pay or passion in the job. So much people choose careers only for the pay. They call chefs, plumbers etc losers. But its the ones who are interested in the paycheck not doing the job who are the losers
