MASSACHUSETTS IT’S AN ISSUE THAT
NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED SOON. THIS MEETING COMES AT AN
INTERESTING TIME FOR THE BAKER
ADMINISTRATION AS TRANSPORTATION
CONTINUES TO DOMINATE HIS ROLE
IN OFFICE. EARLIER THIS MONTH THE GOVERNOR
RELEASED A LONG-AWAITED REPORT
THAT SHOWED WHAT COMMUTERS
ALREADY KNOW TRAFFIC IN THE
, COMMONWEALTH CONTINUES TO GET
WORSE. HE SIGNALED SUPPORT FOR MANAGED
LANES OTHERWISE KNOWN AS
CONGESTION PRICING SOMETHING THE
GOVERNOR PLANS TO LEARN MUCH
MORE ABOUT AT THIS CONFERENCE.>>AS WE SAID IN OUR CONGESTION
REPORT, WE FELT THAT WAS THE
FAIREST AND PROBABLY THE
QUICKEST WAY FOR US TO PUT A
CONGESTION MECHANISM IN PLACE IN
GREATER BOSTON AND THE FACT THAT SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE DONE VERY
SIMILAR THINGS IN EQUALLY
CONGESTED METRO AREAS IS
PARTICULARLY INTERESTING TO ME
