For Pennies Make Pizza Hut Bread Sticks (CopyCat)

every one today is an extremely busy
morning because today I’m going to tell my garden I’m really excited because
finally spring is here and I’m able to tell my garden because tomorrow I want
to plant those potatoes so what are we gonna have to eat today what we’re gonna
have is I had a whole bunch a leftover sloppy joe I made 10 pounds of sloppy
joe because I had my extended family for a meal so what am I gonna do with the
leftover sloppy joe we’re tired of eating it that way I’m
gonna turn that into spaghetti so we’re gonna have spaghetti now spaghetti is
something everybody makes and I’m not gonna bore you with a ten-minute video
on making spaghetti but I’m gonna share with you what I’m making with the
spaghetti and that is pizza hutt breadsticks aim is actually Pizza Hut
breadsticks it is a copycat recipe it is our family
favorite and we’re using the bread machine what to do is mix this up and
while it’s rising I’m going outside and I’m gonna tell my garden so let’s show
you how I make it simple it’s basically your pizza crust
recipe but it actually is Pizza Hut breadsticks I think it calls for as one and a half
cups of warm water now you don’t have to have a bread machine to make this you
can make it any way you wish so it’s one of they have cups of warm water to that
we’re gonna add 1 tablespoon of yeast now I can keep my yeast for a long time
a year or even longer if I store it in the freezer one tablespoon of yeast 1
tablespoon of white sugar and one and a 1/4 teaspoons of salt I only use one
teaspoon three tablespoons of oil and I always use olive oil and then four cups of flour and that’s
all we need to do to have the breadsticks then we’re going to have a
butter mixture when the bread sticks have totally been risen so it’s going to
be four cups of flour so I have 1/2 cup here all right turn the machine on and we’re
gonna set it to the DOS setting all thread machines have a DOS setting only so before I go outside I’m going to make
sure that this is going to be incorporated correctly and in a few
moments I’ll get back to show you what it looks like when it starts to form the
ball all right see how nice it’s starting to form let me see if I can
tilt it for you so now we have to do is close the lid in an hour and a half it
will be finished and now I’m gonna go out and I get to work on my garden so
our dough is finished rising and now we’re gonna work on the spaghetti sauce so I have one can of my homemade
spaghetti sauce so we’re going to only use one quart because we want to make it
enough for two people for one meal now I’m going to go ahead and get some of my
sloppy joe and we’re gonna add that go ahead and add about a pound of my sloppy
joe to my spaghetti sauce the rest of the sloppy joe I think I’m going to go
ahead and freeze it and we can use this with rice with all kinds of meals it’s
just going to give it a little more of a sweeter flavor but it’s perfect and
making it and lasagna and everything like that we’re gonna put this on the
stove on low and we’re gonna get working on our breadsticks and get working on
the noodles all right so it calls for a half a cup of butter 3 tablespoons of
olive oil and three tablespoons of Parmesan cheese so what we do is we’re
gonna put in here you Mike and butter is amazing I just love this canned butter
so we’re going to go ahead we’re gonna have three tablespoons of the butter now
you don’t really have to measure that much that’s lower three now we’re gonna
have three tablespoons of olive oil and two tablespoons of parsley and a
teaspoon of garlic powder so this is my homegrown parsley that I have dehydrated
so we’re just going to go three tablespoons it doesn’t matter if you’re
a little bit over that’s good and then the garlic powder is my very own garlic
powder dehydrated garlic and I’m just gonna go with a half a tablespoon cuz I
like it like that alright and that’s all it is to it now
this is what we’re gonna brush it on our garlic bread
so I’ll get back to in a minute and I’ll show you what it looks like to add
Parmesan cheese I have a little bit of Parmesan cheese left so we’re gonna put
that in there but it also calls for three tablespoons of Parmesan cheese so
the ingredients to brush on the breadsticks are once again 1/2 cup of
butter 3 tablespoons of olive oil 3 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese and 1
teaspoon of garlic powder and 2 tablespoons of parsley this is what our
dough looks like now we’re going to go ahead flour onto our work surface we’re
gonna take the dough out now your dough might be slightly sticky
so just put a little bit we don’t wanna have too much flour cuz flour on bread
dough or any kind of dough tends to make it more dense and we want it a nice
light and fluffy so we’re gonna go ahead and we’re gonna roll this out videos
we’re gonna cut it in here and we’re gonna work with half at a time actually
I’m gonna go right on the cookie sheet and lo it that way now some people like
them thick some people like them thin it all depends on how you like it I roll it
to about fairly thick because I like a nice chewy breadstick I don’t like a
hard breadstick so there we go looks perfect now we’re gonna go ahead and
we’re going to brush on our garlic powder and olive oil and Parmesan cheese
topping yeah mmmm oh it smells so good and this is actually far better than any
restaurant that you’re gonna find this is just really really good all right
we’re gonna take our pizza cutter and we’re just going to cut it in the size
that you like if you have children you can cut them smaller but I just cut them
like this and there we go we have one try finished of our pizza hutt garlic
breadsticks this is great with a salad or a soup you don’t have to have it with
spaghetti now we’ll go ahead and we’ll make our next batch spray our pan a
little bit go ahead and roll the other one go ahead and put this on I try to use
everything up so good this would be a great pizza
crust recipe as well so we’re gonna go with longer ones on this one I’m just
gonna go in like that these also are great heated up the next day there you
go and I’ll show you what everything looks like when it’s finished just so we don’t waste anything I have a
little bit of this left I’m gonna go ahead and I’m gonna put this in with the
noodles when I cook them all right everyone the breadsticks are finished
and see how beautiful they look so we have a bread stick and we have our
spaghetti yeah yeah after a long day at work this is a good meal it’s cheap and
you can’t beat homemade take care everyone
we’ll see you guys tomorrow

  1. You can put sloppy joes in a casserole dish, add a layer of cheese, then put cornbread batter on top for a different taste.

  2. Hi tessie. I love watching your cooking videos, there my favorite one of the series. I agree leftover sloppy Joe mix can go with any kind of meal.. Good way to stretch that dollar ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‹

  3. Great looking meal bread sticks came out great love how you measure and mix it together. Spaghetti looks delicious with the sloppy joe you make it all come together so nice made with the goodness only Tessie can do. Look at you tilling your garden look forward to seeing everything growing. I know your excited to get going on planting I sure am. My seedlings are coming along growing taller I am seeing tiny little buds forming it wont be long now for flowers to bloom I'm excited about that. Looks like it going to be up in the 60's for today and sunny much more spring like. I cant wait to get started working in the garden everything is greening up nicely. I'm going to be growing herbs and tomato plants this year. It's going to be so nice. My neighbor grows a garden too there whole back yard much more than us. It's nice to see others growing a garden. There is a community garden not far from us that all the neighbors on the block grow things and help maintain it. It's a big lot a house used to be on that burned down a few years ago. The person living there I believe died from the fire and the city dedicated the garden for that person. It's so nice to see everyone come together and pitch in to make a beautiful garden all can enjoy. Love you my sister:) sweet blessing to you and Ken:)

  4. Good Morning Tessie and friends. Today looks to be warmer than most days I have had. Going to be in the 60's and windy. Everything is greening up nicely and soon I'll be out planting. What are your plans for today what are you planting in your garden. For me I'll be planting herbs and tomato's and flowers. I'm excited to see my seedlings grow and flowers start to bloom. I wish my friends a wonderful happy blessed Wednesday ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Tessie, you tease.Trying to eat less bread!๐Ÿคฃ We had two days of rain, and my squash and zucchini popped up! So much pleasure watching my container garden grow! It's my "mini homestead"!๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿฅ€๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒผ

  6. I bought a bread maker at a thrift store years ago, it was like brand new. No instruction manual came with it. I have never used it. Had meant to go online to see if I could find one. Never did!! I actually felt a bit intimidated by it, as I have never made bread. However, watching you use yours made me feel like I might be able to figure it out. Grew up with my Mother baking homemade bread & will never forget the smell & taste of those breads!!! ๐Ÿž๐Ÿžโค๏ธ

  7. Can you talk one day on the bread machine? Is it easier to make bread with and what ever. When I was making bread I always had problems with it risen. I did what they say having it in a warm place but it either wouldnt rise or took a very very long time. I dont have all day to wait so I gave up.

  8. Good Morning, Dear Tessie ๐Ÿ’ž

  12. Good morning Tessie.ย  The breadsticks look yummy!ย  Yeahhh, the garden is started!!!ย  What a good feeling.ย  Lots of work needless to say, but so worth it in the end.ย  God Bless and keep you safe.

  13. Pizza Hut bread sticks are my favorite, they are so good. Thank you for sharing the recipe ๐Ÿ™‚ Yay for tilling the garden! Wooohooo!!! Have a great day dear friend. hugs and love

  14. Apparently all of Tessie's trolls like pizza hut, lol, as of 8am est. There were no thumbs down๐Ÿ˜ which we all know is as rare as hen's teeth ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ“ funny stuff. Have a great day everyone.

  15. I so want a bread machine but when I see them at goodwill I'm not sure all the pieces are there what should I look for when buying a used one

  17. I turned my leftover sloppy joe into taco meat the other day. It was spicy and a bit sweet. Love your channel! I start every day with coffee and Tessie! <3

  18. Hi Tessie Laura here. I use my bread machine daily. I'm going to make spagitti tonight. I have no meat, but that don't matter I'll use my mushrooms that were on sale at Aldi for 85 cents each. Oh I really need to get a food dehydrator. Have a great day!๐Ÿ˜

  19. Great way to use up the sloppy joe mix. The pizza bread sticks look amazing! So easy to make in the bread machine. Love that the potatoes are getting planted. Did you use all your leftover potatoes from last year? Thanks for sharing!

  20. Nice video, Tessie. I make homemade dough (by hand) at least once a week. My son is a pizza nut and would happily eat it every day or so in some form. I enjoy kneading the dough for pizza and other yeast products, and there is a real sense of satisfaction putting a loaf on the table after you make it. A person who learns to make bread is going to be able to feed the family–rolls, cinnamon bread, crackers…so many things we can do for ourselves. People have to decide whether it's worth the time.

  21. I think I will make these tonight and surprise my family! I make homemade marinara sauce by mixing spaghetti sauce and Italian seasoning. Cheap and easy peasy!! Tessie, have a blessed Wednesday!!๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—

  22. Good Morning Tessie, so happy for you getting to rototil (sp) the yard!…Thanks for the tip to store the yeast in the freezer for a longer life!…That seems so simple with using the bread machine!…Maybe will have to check good will etc and see about getting one of these! And the completed bread sticks look so good too…Thank you for another wonderful and educational video..Love to you

  23. Yeah you get to till the garden WhooHoo!! Those breadsticks looks oh so yummy! I am hankering for some but that's probably because I miss eating bread since I'm gluten free. Darn it! Boy oh boy at times like these, seeing delicious homemade breads, etc., I sure do dislike having to be gluten free! Well thanks for sharing this recipe and the meal looks delicious as well. Take care and God Bless!

  24. Good morning Tessie! That spaghetti looks delicious! You have inspired me to make spaghetti and breadsticks today….. if I start feeling better. Otherwise we might just have soup. Iโ€™m having pain in the kidney area today. So might need something light to eat. Been drinking lots of water, praying that it helps.
Did you get your garden tilled up? Canโ€™t wait to see the video of the potato planting.
We woke up to freezing temps and iced over car windshields today. Iโ€™m ready for warmer weather. It does warm up by after noon though…. so I guess we can deal with cold mornings.
Well Tessie, thanks for sharing with us… and you have a very blessed day.
    My love and prayers always,
    Mary๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ™

  25. You are amazing! Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound! Absolutely bread sticks will be my next cooking project. Love your videos. Prayers and hugs

  26. Have to get out my bread machine. This looks so good and easy. Have a great day and donโ€™t work too long.

  27. Good morning Tessie ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Your tilling and I'm packing… busy busy busy ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a fantastic day!!! Bless!!! <3

  28. I love breadstick but I am trying to stay away from bread right now…lol. You are awesome girl! God bless you.

  29. Hi Tessie! โ˜บ I know you will have SO much FUN outside in your garden! Enjoy!! ๐Ÿ‘โ˜บ WOW, that's a lot of Sloppy Joe! That would also be delicious for a pizza topping or in Stuffed Shells!! I always use Olive Oil too! ๐Ÿ˜‹ Moms favorite "Extra Virgin Pompeian". ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹ Happy Gardening!! Happy Videoing!! โ˜บโ˜บ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž

  30. Morning Tessie, Im definitely going to try those bread sticks! Would you come till my garden for me, its much smaller than yours. LOL Its still under about a foot of snow yet tho. See you tomorrow.

  31. Thank you so much for the Bread Stick video and yes I'm excited about spring being here as well it's a great time of the year getting stuff done finally I love you sister.

  32. Iโ€™m going to make these breadsticks very soon and whip up some marinara sauce to dip them in. Husband went fishing for a week and this sounds good and Iโ€™d make it my dinner. Thanks Tessie ๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿ’œ

  33. Hi Tessie, watched this last night in bed on my Kindle and discovered that I am not logged in(to who I do not know) and therefore could not comment. If anyone knows, please inform me. Anyway, I was drooling with your garlic bread sticks. I wonder if I can use Almond or coconut flour instead of wheat. I do not eat grains for health reasons. I am going to try almond first because it works more like wheat, and then try to figure out the coconut equivalent. You use so much less coconut flour to make bread and have to add psyllium to replace something that is in wheat. But I want some and will let you know if a different flour will work. If I was closer, would have come for that spaghetti, but mostly for those bread sticks. You do a great job of growing food and laying hens and cooking and you might think your house is not much, but I think it is beautiful. There really are no antiques like that here where I live and your home is so welcome looking and all of those great growing things you have right now. I am jealous, I have early things out, but we can't plant until after the middle of April. I don't start seeds anymore, just pick up the biggest tomato plant I can find – usually two in case something happens to one of them. Thank you for such a great idea.

  34. What great recipes love bread sticks n a awesome sauce ! Oh I hear the birds in the background! I long for that sound

  35. Those breadsticks look delicious! I would definitely use that topping under the sauce for pizza. ๐Ÿ˜€

  36. Yummy! Didnโ€™t get to watch until now. Just drove by the local nursery and broccoli, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts plants are ready. Guess where Iโ€™m going on my lunch break tomorrow?

  41. I rarely eat out. I cook at home from scratch. My son brought home a 5 for 5 deal I think is what they called it. He had several items and one of them were cinnabon rolls. Lord if you have the recipe for that I will be making them. Those things were soooo good.

  44. Uhmmm, uhmm!!!! You made me hungry for good home meal. Thank you for sharing not only your recipe, but your peacefull and very posity actitude towards life, It's really helping me a lot.

  45. Hi Tess ๐Ÿ™‚ Keto bread is nothing like the real thing ๐Ÿ™ but your recipe looks YUM!!
I have a question for you. I've got an abundance of mushrooms, onion and celery. I'm thinking about canning them together in pint jars for adding to recipes. I wanted to saute in butter/olive oil a little first. (do you think the fats are a problem?) I know veggie soup is 55 minutes in Ball book. Do you have any suggestions?

  46. I made these tonight with homemade pizza. They were delicious. I am definitely saving this recipe to make from now on. Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful bread sticks. ๐Ÿ™‚

  47. Tessie, I'm just curious…maybe you've said it and I didnt see that video, but where do you live… what state? I'm from MI
